The Clarence Correctional Centre is due to open in mid-2020, with a 1700 bed facility, making it the largest and most state-of-the-art correctional centre in Australia. Serco Australia has a 20 year contract to operate and maintain the centre, creating the opportunity for long-term, rewarding and secure employment with exciting career prospects in one of Australia’s most spectacular coastal and country locations.

About the opportunity
As a Case Management Lead you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of case management practices for the effective supervision and rehabilitation of inmates with the view to reduce the likelihood of re-offending. A key component of your role will be promoting rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates and ensuring the safety and security of inmates and the community.
An integral part of your role will include coordinating all case planning, classification and placement boards as well development of all plans and recommendations relating to case management. Case Management Leaders will also provide recommendations to the Sentence Management unit in relation to budgetary requirements and manage the allocated budget.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Hold relevant tertiary qualification in Criminology, Social Work, Social Sciences or relevant industry experience.
- Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Case Management) or to be completed within the first 12 months of employment.
- Experience leading a team
- Experience in classification and placement within a correctional environment
- Experience and understanding of case management in a human service field
- Experience in delivering end to end case management.
- Exposure to Criminal Justice System or similar human services.
- Demonstrate a commitment to Serco’s values and the rehabilitation process
- Demonstrate a competent level of computer literacy and report writing
- Proficient interpersonal and communications skills
- Maintains high level of integrity and ethical behaviour
